A number of different activities will be going on at the high school on October 14: senior job shadow day, PSAT for juniors and sophomores, freshman field trips.
Fall Break -- No School from Thursday, October 22 through Monday, October 26. School will resume on Tuesday, October 27.
National FFA Convention will be held in Louisville, KY from Wednedsay, October 28 through Saturday, October 31. FFA students will be participating in various activities at the FFA Convention.
A blood drive will be held at the high school on Tuesday, November 3.
The Indiana State Beta Club Convention will be held at the French Lick Resort this year on November 13 and 14.
Midterm for Term 2 is on Friday, November 13. Grades will be posted to Skyward on Wednesday, November 18.
Holiday Ball is on Friday, November 20 at Celestine Community Club.
All Juniors will take the ASVAB test on the morning of Tuesday, November 24.
Congratulations to the Freshmen for winning our food drive challenge. While the competition is over, we are still accepting donations through next week. Please consider sending in a donation of non-perishable food items with your student, or you can drop your donation off on the stage during any home sporting event.
Final Exams will take place on Wednesday, December 16; Thursday, December 17; and Friday, December 18.
Semester 1 ends on Friday, December 18. Students will return to school for the start of semester 2 on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
There will be a meeting for anyone interested in learning more about Young Life and potentially joining the committee that will work toward establishing the program in our community.
Buddy and Billie Hart will perform a concert to benefit the high school Robotics Team. The concert will take place on January 17 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the middle school multi-purpose room.
The NDHS Financial Aid Workshop will be held on the evening of January 19 at 6:30 in the middle school multi-purpse room. (This is a location change.) Any current senior planning on pursuing post-secondary education after high school is recommended to attend this workshop with a parent.

On behalf of the Girl Scouts, the high school is currently accepting donations of toddler sized clothes to dress the Celestine Street Fest Stuffed Bears. Any donations are appreciated and can be dropped off in the high school office.

Northeast Dubois School Corporation will be participating in Channel 14's Sunrise School Spirit Competition on September 16. Through this challenge, NDHS hopes to foster school spirit and collect donations for the Tri-State Food Bank. Please bring canned food donations to the NDHS office or to any athletic event leading up to September 16.
School pictures for underclassmen will be taken on Wednesday, September 21.
The Dubois Public Library has provided digital access cards to all high school students. The purpose of these cards is to allow students to access digital materials, such as research databases, regardless of whether they have their own library card or not. NDHS appreciates this resource provided by the library, and we urge our students (and their families) to take advantage of it.

Wednesday, October 19 will be a busy day for NDHS students.
Seniors will have the opportunity to job shadow the career of their choice. Students who opt not to participate in the job shadow day will be helping with service activities around the high school.
Juniors and sophomores will be taking the PSAT.
Freshmen will be taking a college campus visit on this day as well. Students will visit either the University of Evansville or Vincennes University.

High School Beta Club members will participate in the State Convention at French Lick Resort on November 11 and 12.
There will be a Financial Aid Workshop for parents on November 14 at 6:30 at the high school. This meeting will be beneficial to any senior students or parents who have questions about FAFSA, scholarships, and other financial aid options.
Holiday Ball will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the Celestine Community Club from 7:30-10:30pm.
Juniors will have the opportunity to participate in ASVAB testing on Tuesday, November 22.
We will be celebrating Eugene the Jeep's 80th birthday at the boys' basketball game on Friday, December 2. JV game begins at 6:00.
Final Exams will be taken on Monday, December 19; Tuesday, December 20; and Wednesday, December 21. Semester 1 ends at the end of the day on Wednesday, December 21.
Students return to school for the start of Semester 2 on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
Class of 2017 is invited to attend a College Panel discussion on January 6. Recent NDHS graduates, who are currently attending post-secondary education, will be returning to the high school to answer questions and provide insight on the transition from high school to college.
Boys' Basketball Sectional play begins on Tuesday, February 28 at Wood Memorial High School. Dubois will play Cannelton at 8:00 EST. Semi-final games will be played on Friday, March 3, and the championship game will be on Saturday, March 4.
Current 8th Graders and their parents are encouraged to attend Orientation at the high school on Monday, March 6 at 6:30. Students will also visit the high school on Tuesday, March 7.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held at the high school on Thursday, March 9 from 4:00-8:00pm. Teachers will also be helping with the Blue Chip Academic Bowl Competition that evening, so parents should contact teachers to set up a conference time.
Parents of juniors are encouraged to attend College 101, an informational meeting about preparing for the college application and financial aid process. The meeting will be held in the high school cafeteria on Thursday, March 9 at 6:30.
ISTEP testing is underway at the high school. Sophomores will take English Part 1 on Tuesday, February 28 and Math Part 1 on Thursday, March 2. Sophomores and freshmen enrolled in Biology I will take Science Part 1 on Tuesday, March 7.
Check out our talented high school artists' exhibit at the Krempp Gallery. Student pieces will be displayed from March 1-13. The gallery is open M-F 8:30-5:00; Th 8:30-7:00; and Sun 12:00-3:00.

On Friday, April 7, all sophomores and juniors will have the opportunity to attend a career exploration fair at one of three locations: Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, Jasper Engines and Transmissions, or French Lick Resort.

The Southwestern Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition and Crisis Connection will be hosting an informational session, titled "Protecting Your Children: Advice from Child Molesters." The presentation will be held on September 11 from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Huntingburg Event Center. All are encouraged to attend.
Picture Perfect will be at the high school on September 11 and 12. Sophomores and Juniors will have their photos taken on September 11. Freshmen and Seniors will be on September 12.
Wednesday, October 10 will see a lot of activity for NDHS students. All freshmen will be visiting college campuses. Sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT. And, seniors will be participating in a job shadow day.
On Thursday, October 11 the high school and middle school will be conducting a virtual eLearning Day. Paperwork will be sent home on October 1.
All seniors and their parents who are considering any post-secondary education are encouraged to attend the annual Financial Aid Workshop. The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, October 18 at 6:00 pm.
Parent Teacher Conferences at the high school are scheduled for the evening of Thursday, October 18 from 3:15-7:15. Any parent who wishes to schedule a conference should contact the high school office or the teacher directly.
Dismissal Changes: From 2:45-3:15 daily, our two entrances will become one ways. The first entrance (when coming from downtown Dubois) will be an EXIT ONLY. All of our student driver traffic and busses will be exiting the property from this drive.
If you are coming onto the school property during this time, please enter through the second drive. Thank you for your help keeping our dismissal process safe! We will be posting signage concerning this change soon.

Each year NDHS HOSA students raise money for an anonymous family in need in our community. The group has planned dress up days for Monday, November 12 - Thursday, November 15. All are welcome to participate. Any community member interested in making a donation may contact the high school office.
