January 15-19

Special Notes and Dates

If you ever need to contact me, you can email me at hbreslin@nedubois.k12.in.us or call 812-678-2777.  If I am unable to talk at the time, you can leave a message on my voicemail or with Judy, and I will call you back as soon as possible.

  • All students should be working toward mastery of their multiplication facts. I have started giving timed quizzes on multiplying by a single factor (ie. 2x2, 2x3, 2x4, 2x5…) These quizzes happen almost daily and provide opportunities to earn classroom money, but do not count for a grade. Every child should know which quiz they will take next and be working at home on studying for it. This should help improve the scores on the monthly mixed multiplication timed tests.
  • In class, we have been working on writing research papers about animals. Students should soon be bringing home their rough drafts and asking for help editing and revising. They also have a writing rubric that explains exactly how the assignment will be graded. Please ask your child to share these items with you to help improve their success on this big, exciting project!
