  • Our classroom Christmas party will be Thursday, December 21. If your child is participating in the gift exchange, please make sure they bring a wrapped gift for another student by the day of the party.

 

  • Also on Thursday, there will be a math test on the skill we have been working on in class: finding perimeter.

 

  • On Friday, December 22 there will be multiplication facts timed quiz. All students should be able to solve 50 mixed problems in 4 minutes. This will be a graded quiz.

 

  • I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday break!

Reading Log

The students will be given a reading log every Friday.  They will need to read 80 minutes a week and turn it in the following Friday.

 

Spelling

We will take the Spelling/Writing test every Friday.  The students will have to spell all 15 words on the front. On the back, they will be given  five sentences to write correctly.   Each sentence is worth 3 points– 1 each for capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.  The total test is worth 30 points-15 for the words and 15 for the sentences.

We are working on our research papers.

Multiplication Fluency

 All students need to know 50 multiplication facts (in four minutes) by the end of December.  I will be taking a grade on these quizzes.   By the end of third grade, they will need to know 95 mixed (1-12) multiplication facts in four minutes.
